About Us
In 1841, The Banner, then a student newspaper, was first circulated in response to a violent riot between Yale students and the firemen of New Haven. In 2020, the Yale Banner Publications carries on the tradition of publishing high quality keepsakes since the first collegiate yearbook in the United States was printed at Yale in 1845.
Throughout the year, the Yale Banner Staff works to document the history of Yale College and publish it in an annual catalogue of student life at Yale. Our team of editors, photographers, reporters, designers, and administrators work tirelessly to create a book that is diverse and representative of all kinds of Yale experiences. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I sign up for a Yearbook photo?
A: Most seniors and their families received emails from Lauren Studios about signing up for a senior portrait at the beginning of the year. This letter contained a Client ID Number that you can use to sign up for a portrait on http://www.laurenstudios.com/. If you don't have your Client ID Number, reach out to yearbook@yale.edu for information on how to sign up for a photo.
Q: I took a gap semester or gap year. Can I still be in the yearbook with my original class?
A: Yes! Students who took a leave of absence can choose to be in the book with their original or new year. If you want to be in the book with your original class, reach out to yearbook@yale.edu for information on how to sign up for a photo.
Q: How do I buy a Portrait + Yearbook package?
A: Families can choose to buy a Portrait Sitting + Yearbook package through Lauren Studios. When signing up for a portrait sitting, there will be an option to add on a yearbook to your purchase at a discounted rate.
Q: Can I still purchase books from previous years?
A: Some books from previous years are still available for purchase. You can reach out to yearbook@yale.edu to find out if we still have copies of the edition you are looking for, and if there are extra copies, we can arrange a purchase.
Q: Can I submit photos to the book?
